"Gratitude, Let's tell God Thank You"
Luke 17: 11- 19
(resource from Lisa Appelo - The Power of Gratitude)

Gratitude, telling God thank you.  In this Bible story, Jesus heals 10 men with the disease of leprosy.   How happy this made the men, but only one of them was grateful enough to stop and think of the one who had made this possible and return to tell him thank you.

Telling God thank you for all the wonderful gifts and care he has given us shows we acknowledge him as the source of our life and needs, not we ourselves.  We see him working around us, sense his presence, care and perfect timing.  When we're thankful we're being obedient, this brings us peace, and draws us near to God.  Gratitude makes us content with what we have.  If we aren't thankful for what God has given us, getting more won't satisfy either.

James  1: 17 -18— "Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights.  Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows.  In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word.   And we, out of all creation became his choice possession. "

"Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done."
Psalm 105: 1
