Happy Eastertide, Friends!
It was wonderful to celebrate our first Easter Sunday together, and I am so grateful for the efforts from our fabulous Congregational Life committee! The delicious brunch, the Easter egg hunt for the kiddos, and the scavenger hunt for the teens ahead of worship were a great way to celebrate the resurrection together as a community. What a blessing to see such a great multi-generational crowd!
After Easter Sunday, I began a new sermon series on the book of James, and although it can be a challenging book, you have received his teaching, and mine, with grace and open minds. Following the liturgical calendar, we will also study the Ascension of Christ followed by Pentecost when the Spirit filled Christ’s followers, a reminder that although Christ returned to heaven, God’s presence with us continues!
In this beautiful spring season, when our gardens are beginning to bloom, we honor our mothers and graduating seniors. May each one of you be reminded of just how valuable you are!
On Wednesday, May 6th at 6:30 pm we will begin our weekly Bible study for seekers and questioners. This study is open to all, whether members or not, so be sure to invite your community friends!
And finally, remember that we will be permanently moving our Sunday worship time to 10:30 a.m. beginning on Sunday, May 31st!
May we each be inspired by the still small voice of the Spirit as we work together to bring more of God’s love into the world.
